FAQs:
Is everyone a candidate for the Medical Weight Management Program? Candidacy is made on a case-by-case basis based on your medical history, chronic weight related conditions, lab work (if deemed necessary), etc. This is why we offer a free consult prior to moving forward with partnering with you to develop your personalized treatment plan.
Are there conditions that would automatically disqualify someone from using Semaglutide? Yes. Semaglutide injections are not given to people with:
Personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer
Type 1 Diabetes
Pancreatitis
Decreased kidney functions
Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia (MEN)
Do the medications prescribed in the Medical Weight Management Program have side effects? Yes, as is the case for all medications, the ones prescribed in our program have side effects. The most common are listed below. For this reason, we start you with a low dose and provide dietary and lifestyle recommendations to minimize the degree to which you will experience side effects and allow your body to get used to the medicine. This is also the reason we monitor you closely as you start your treatment.
Prescription Pills: Depending on the oral medication you are prescribed, the most common side effect could be dry mouth, trouble sleeping and/or nausea. Note, everyone responds differently. A full list will be provided during the consult.
Semaglutide: Most common side effect is nausea. Note, everyone responds differently. A full list will be provided during the consult.
Do you accept insurance for the Medical Weight Management Program? No, we do not process insurance for the Medical Weight Loss Management Program. Unfortunately, most insurance plans don’t cover overweight and obesity treatment and drugs. Note, your insurance may be collected so Quest Diagnostics can process your bloodwork (if lab work is needed) which we may use to determine suitability for the program.
Can I pay with FSA/HSA? Yes! We can provide a detailed patient receipt to assist with your reimbursement claims. We encourage you to check whether the program will be considered a covered expense prior to using this form of payment.
What forms of payments are accepted? We accept CareCredit to offer flexible payment and financing options along with cash, credit cards, flexible spending account (FSA) cards and health spending account (HSA) cards as long as they have a VISA or MasterCard endorsement. We do NOT accept checks. We offer flexible payment options to remove cost as a barrier to your treatment. Ask about our payment options at your free consult.
