Are All INSURANCEs ACCEPTed?
No. MedStar, JAI Medical and out of state Medicaid are NOT accepted under any conditions. If you have this insurance and want to be tested, you can pay out of pocket. See below for the fee schedule.
Maryland Physician’s Care and Amerigroup would like their members to get Rapid tests at participating in-network testing facilities. While we can perform the QUEST PCR test, these insurance providers will NOT cover the cost for Rapids rendered at our facility because we’re not an in-network provider. If you carry this insurance and need a Rapid, you can either pay out of pocket or contact the insurance company for a list of participating testing centers in your area.
NOTE: At times, BlueCross BlueShield will reimburse the member (patient) directly by sending them a check in their Explanation of Benefits (EOB) for the services we rendered. If that should happen, we will invoice the member for the amount of the check ONLY.
If you do not have insurance, the CARES ACT will NO LONGER cover the cost of your COVID-19 testing (for a Rapid or QUEST PCR test). This means:
Effective immediately you will need to pay out of pocket for Rapid or RT-PCR testing. Please refer to the fee schedule below for the cost. Note, we no longer provide QUEST PCR tests for uninsured clients.
Participating insurance carriers typically cover both the Rapid and QUEST PCR tests but you may have a co-pay. Please check with your insurance provider BEFORE GETTING TESTED to determine if you will have an out of pocket cost associated with your visit. Note: We do NOT accept insurance for the RT-PCR.
NOTE: The out of pocket fee schedule is as follows:
Rapid - $100
RT-PCR - $200

WHAT TYPE OF TEST DO you OFFER?
A Clean Start offers two different COVID-19 tests. The sample for both is collected with a nasopharyngeal swab that is placed in the nose. The tests are:
PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test. This molecular based testing is considered the gold standard due to its sensitivity in detecting an active COVID-19 infection.
Rapid or RAT (rapid antigen test). This diagnostic test, suitable for point-of-care testing, can detect the presence or absence of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.
